The Order of the Knights of Pythagoras is a mentorship and leadership program for boys ages 8 to 18. Sponsored by Prince Hall Masons, it offers a positive and structured environment focused on personal development, education, and community service.

Through engaging activities, strong role models, and a values-based curriculum, young men learn the importance of respect, responsibility, and achievement—both in their communities and in their personal lives.

The organization traces its roots to the Chivalric Order of Knights Companions, formed by Prince Hall Masons from the Grand Jurisdictions of Kansas and Colorado at a conference on November 19, 1938. It was officially renamed the Order of the Knights of Pythagoras on May 10, 1951.

We encourage all Knights to be active and engaged participants in the program. Regular involvement builds leadership, confidence, and brotherhood. Here’s what a typical month looks like:

Monthly Council Meetings

Held every 1st Saturday from 10:00 AM to 12:30 PM. These sessions focus on mentorship, life skills, planning, and fellowship.

This monthly meeting is the heart of our council.

Monthly KOP Check-In (Virtual Only)

One Wednesday evening each month via Zoom or another online platform. These check-ins are brief but meaningful. In addition to updates and encouragement, we host workshops and presentations to help build skills, inspire learning, and keep our young men motivated and informed.

We understand that family vacations, school obligations, and personal commitments arise. That’s why we ask each Knight to aim for at least 65% participation in all activities throughout the year.

Advisors & Parents

Your support makes all the difference.

Advisors are expected to attend monthly meetings, mentor the Knights, and help coordinate events and logistics.

Parents are encouraged to stay informed, assist with transportation, attend special programs and most importantly, consider joining our Parents Club.

The Parents Club provides a wonderful opportunity to stay engaged, contribute ideas, and help support council activities and events.

Widow’s Son Council #27 offers a dynamic, youth-led program full of meaningful activities designed to build leadership, character, and community awareness. Every event and initiative is guided by the interests and decisions of the Knights (youth members), with support from Advisors.

Regional Day: A special day of fun and unity where all councils and branches within our region come together for shared activities, games, competitions, and networking.

Youth Assemblage: Our signature annual gathering, where Knights from across the state convene for several days of workshops, leadership training, fellowship, and celebration. It’s a high-energy, unforgettable experience.

Youth-Led Planning: Each council’s yearly calendar is developed and driven by the Knights themselves. With guidance from their Advisors, they choose events that reflect their interests, goals, and values.
