Widow's Son Lodge was established in Raleigh, North Carolina by Past Grand Master James W. Hood, by Authority of the Grand Lodge of New York. Widow's Son Lodge is the fourth oldest Masonic Prince Hall Lodge in the State of North Carolina.
Widow's Son Lodge #4 has served the Raleigh Community for over 150 years. With over 160 members and both a Youth and Sister Organization, Widow's Son Lodge #4 has long established roots in North Carolina that will continue to serve for years to come!

Widow's Son Lodge established the Youth organization Widow's Son Council #27 in 1973, and is one of the oldest and esteemed councils within the North Carolina Order of the Knights of Pythagoras. The Council is involved in a wide-variety of activities - volunteering throughout the community as well as even helping to preserve historic landmarks in Raleigh, NC. The Council also competes in state-wide competitions, which they have consistently won for nearly a decade.
Knowledge can only become wisdom if it's shared - and who better to share relevant, real life knowledge with than the young kids & teens who are here for the next generation! Widow's Son Lodge stresses the importance of Service to Community in an effort to make good men better - and that lesson extends to the Youth in our community, serving as active role models in the lives of young males, helping to positively aide and assist the "youngsters" as they navigate through life.

The Weekend-Long Event Was Enjoyed By #4 Members, Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of North Carolina Officials, Ruth Chapter #2 Order of the Eastern Star, Raleigh City Officials & Councilmen, Community Leaders and Many More!.
In celebrating 150 Years, Widow's Son Lodge #4 found it ever important to conduct a full review of the lodge's history. Led by recently appointed #4 Lodge Historian Brother Adrian Bullock, the 150 Year Anniversary Committee was able to gather century old details about the origins of Widow's Son Lodge #4 and the establishment of the Most Worshipful Prince Hall Grand Lodge of North Carolina. Bro Bullock's Findings can be reviewed in the newly established Widow's Son Lodge Archives Room, online, or the 150 Year Commemorative Journal.
