The Cooking Committee - titled “RAW B4 The Smoke” - is an internal Widow’s Son Lodge committee that is dedicated to crafting exceptional culinary experiences for both events and competitions. Comprised of passionate members with diverse cooking backgrounds, simply put - the Brothers know how to create that taste to delight all your senses. Whether preparing a multi-course meal for a lodge meeting, a weekend community fish fry, or entering competitions to showcase their skills - “RAW” is always at work.
The collaborative spirit of this committee is founded upon the objecting of creating positive environments where people can come together through food. We would love for you to come to one of our next cooking events, so make sure you sign up for updates below.

RAW B4 The Smoke Cooking Team holds many “Fish Fry’s” - which is basically a cookout that is specifying that fish will be there 😂
In addition to Fish Fry’s, we cook or hold other events that include Turkey Legs, Hand-Cut Potatoes, Chopped Pork or Turkey BBQ, and even Philly Cheesesteaks (including Chicken Cheesesteaks) - make sure you sign-up for updates on our next outing!

If you are renting the building and need some type of food service, let us know - we could eliminate the need for outside food services, just start the conversation…

Our Cooking Committee is comprised of multiple Certified Grill Masters and specializes in everything on a grill, including chopped BBQ (more on that below). More importantly, RAW B4 The Smoke has the best equipment money can buy - from traditional grills to custom smokers…there’s not a job too big or small that cannot be handled…
At the Annual Pig Jig Competition held at NC State Fairgrounds as part of the annual “Gots To Be NC” Festival, RAW B4 The Smoke is a Top competitor. The Pig Jig is an overnight event where over 20 teams from across the country come together to have a BBQ Competition (best pork and turkey BBQ). Highly attended and prudently judged, RAW B4 The Smoke has experienced great success at this yearly competition:
